Our Story

Aavaran was conceptualized and founded in 2008 by Alka sharma, a textile graduate from the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design.
While attempting to revive and sustain the traditional craft of Dabu, hand block printing using mud resist technique, Aavaran also wanted to ensure the economic empowerment of the indigenous craft persons in the region.
