Samaa -The Tale of Hand Printed Royal Gardens
Samaa is an ethnic collection based on the concept of “Ritu” alias seasons, and depicts the seasonal flora and fauna in the form of motifs.
The prints, embellishments and styles are inspired from the Mughal era. The patterns have exquisite Mughal essence and detailed characteristics of the seasons. The print surfaces are made keeping in mind the process of Dabu.
The ‘Monsoon’ range portrays the seasonal flora like Passion Flower, Chuimui, Khejari, and Sargosha in the form of intricate motifs. Gossamer butterflies and fine peacock prints represent the monsoon fauna. The ‘Summer’ range comprises of local summer flora and fauna such as Dharuna, Miswaak, Khejri, Sargodha, Dragonfly and Sparrow. The regal embellishments and ornate trimmings bear a strong impact of the Mughal period. The unique blend of seasons and Mughal era makes the collection distinctive and entrancing.
